Working as a Physical Education teacher at ABS is like no other. The level of care and trust that the administration have in their staff is unique and special. As a teacher that you feel loved and supported from the moment you sign on the dotted line! Even though I just started working at ABS, I have never felt so motivated and empowered to teach. The community is astounding, and there are always people willing to support you with anything you need. Here, the staff work together to ensure our students are receiving the best quality of education. I aim to foster an inclusive and friendly learning environment that drives students to develop into compassionate individuals who strive to make a positive impact in the world.

ABS goes far beyond the boundaries of a school, it’s a family. The management and staff work beautifully together to meet with our vision of nurturing students to be “accountable, independent, successful global citizens with ethical values, ready to take on any challenges that come their way.” The work ethics are commendable. The staff are caring and friendly, and the students are energetic and eager to learn. I am blessed to be working in such a wonderful atmosphere. As the music teacher, I teach children with immense potential. I get to tap into their talents, identifying budding musicians, and assisting them in attaining their goal. Music is a universal language, one of love, connectivity and contentment. Helping them appreciate it in this supersonic world is a sure stressbuster, a welcome note.

In these challenging times, online classes have opened a plethora of opportunities for both students and teachers alike, urging us to think out of the box and stretch our creativity. It’s been a beautiful journey here and I am excited to experience a lot more. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Frederico De Melo - Music Teacher

My name is Roxana Anisia and I have served as PE teacher at ABS since 2008. I feel that I have a deep understanding of all areas within the school. My 13 years have consisted of teaching Elementary, Middle School, and High school PE classes, as well as serving as the PE Head of Department. I can say, with all honesty, that our school has a strong foundation across all departments. Since I first began working at ABS, I have witnessed the facilities, the instruction, and the ABS community improve each year. I felt welcomed from the first day I arrived, and I look forward to welcoming anyone else who joins our community. This school truly cares about the success and wellbeing of its students, and I see that reflected on a daily basis. I will be staying at ABS for years to come because of the school community and my surrounding environment. The things that I love and that make this feel like home include the respectful and generous students, the rich culture, the access to wonderful adventures, the close-knit community of teachers, the consistent improvements, and the amount of support I receive. The faculty go above and beyond to help our community feel safe and comfortable. I feel grateful each day that I come into work, and I am supported in a way in that allows me to give my best effort all the time."

It has been an absolute honor to be a part of the ABS Family and partaking in its mission for the past half decade. We take immense pride here at ABS that we are an  American school with an American curriculum and a STEM focus. We offer a selection of STEM courses that are exceptional and offered right here at ABS  for example Coding utilizing Java & JavaScript, Applied Engineering, Networking, Robotics, 3-D Printing, Design Thinking and Web Developing. The biggest achievement as a technology department is that we are constantly updating and staying up to date with the most current technologies and software development so we can deliver the most instructive curriculum that we possibly can. I take great pride and joy in teaching and developing these STEM courses intended for the students to enhance their engineering and tech-based skills that they can implement and turn into rewarding careers. It has been a privilege to directly serve the ABS vision and mission to educate future leaders of tomorrow, and to be a part of this institution.

Whenever you ask any staff member about working at ABS the first thoughts that would cross one’s mind are proficiency in work, transparency, and integrity. At ABS, all employees are treated fairly and have a healthy environment to develop their career in the academic path. Loyalty, respect, and honesty are the main characteristics of staff here. All departments work collaboratively to support and help each other. To facilitate collaboration among staff and departments, as well as the exchange of information between teachers, parents, and students, ABS provides the most advanced technologies to aid in effective communication.

ABS is a wonderful place to work due to three things; the wonderfully diverse group of teachers we have and the students. Being exposed to a variety of teaching methods provides us with a greater level of experience. As I have lived here in Kuwait for a few years now, I have come to love the community. The students are an integral part of the any teaching position in the world, and I am grateful to have students from Kuwait and a few other countries respectfully. Their views on certain aspects really adds to the love I have for my position here. The last reason I enjoy working here is simply because of my superiors. This year especially, they have provided a lot of positive professional development and appreciation for what we are trying to do, and these things should not go unnoticed. I have a great deal of respect for them because of the level of commitment they put into making us better educators.
