Assessment rubrics and Units of work

The Athletics curriculum at ABS has been curated to allow for the inclusion of multiple disciplines and accommodate a variety of skill levels. Students have the opportunity to cultivate a current interest or develop a completely new skill using the PE Curriculum for their year group and the QCA scheme of work.  Their scheme of work will reflect the abilities/ages of the children and will be broad and balanced.

Our program includes football, basketball, badminton, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming and more! With our diverse course, there is something for everyone. In the sections below, you will be able to explore the program in detail and learn how we train and assessing our students.

PE instructors are skilled in providing expert guidance in each area and to all levels of skill.

See the Units of Work document for how we teach and evaluate our students based on their year and sporting selection. The Assessment of Units documents will reflect the levels for each of the activities that we have developed within our curriculum. Together, the information provided here along with our excellent PE staff, results in an athletics program, superior and competitive to many others in Kuwait.

Our school is committed to providing the best physical education curriculum, focusing on tailored teaching programs, fitness strategies, and techniques that meet the needs of every student. Emphasizing the development of the five key health-related fitness components—stamina, speed, body composition, strength, and flexibility—we aim to enhance overall physical well-being. We also prioritize skill-related fitness, including speed, agility, coordination, balance, and reaction time, to help students improve endurance and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
