AI Tools Usage Policy for Students

Student Agreement for AI Use 

AI can help me learn better and is important for my future, so I promise to use it the right way and make smart choices. 

  1. I will use AI tools responsibly and will not use AI in a way that could harm myself or others. 
     
  2. I will only use AI to support my learning and will follow my school’s rules and teacher’s instructions on when and how to use AI on an assignment. 
     
  3. I will be honest when I use AI to help with assignments, and I will not turn in work that is fully created by an AI as my own. 
     
  4. If I use AI, I will review its work for mistakes. 
     
  5. I will comply with the AI policy documented in the Student Handbook. 

General Principles: 

  1. Permitted Use: Students are encouraged to use AI tools to enhance their learning experience and assist with schoolwork. 
     
  2. Transparency: Any use of AI in academic work must be clearly acknowledged. 
     
  3. Ethical Use: AI tools should be used to support learning, not replace genuine effort. Using AI to complete entire assignments, deceive, or cheat is strictly prohibited. 
     
  4. Prohibited Content: AI must not be used to generate harmful, illegal, or discriminatory content. 
     
  5. Consequences: Misuse of AI tools will be considered academic misconduct and may result in penalties such as warnings, reduced grades, or even suspension/expulsion.

Code of Conduct: 

1. Data Privacy: Students must keep their data secure and private when using AI tools. 

2. Ongoing Education: Students should continuously educate themselves about AI technology and its ethical implications. 

3. Awareness of Bias: Students must be aware of AI biases and strive to use AI ethically. 14. Reporting Misuse: Any misuse or policy violation involving AI should be reported immediately. 

The AI Tools Usage Policy for Students will be dynamic, regularly updated to reflect evolving technology and ensure responsible, ethical use of AI in academic work.
