MS/HS Department's Message 

Welcome to the American Baccalaureate School. At ABS, we are committed to an educational approach that engages and challenges students to develop emotionally, intellectually and socially. We help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports student achievement, and provides positive social experiences. It is our vision to become the top bilingual school in the GCC states.

At ABS, we offer the merging of several great educational traditions. Curriculum and instruction is modeled after the finest American schools focusing learning and assessment on hands-on, experiential projects and lessons. We are accredited by the largest and most esteemed American Accrediting agency AdancEd Worldwide.  Along with our American curriculum, we provide a comprehensive education in Arabic and Islam to ensure our students' success upon graduation. With reverence to tradition, we have separate buildings for the girls and boys and have a prayer room available in each.

Our students have the ability to be involved in extracurricular activities like Model United Nations and field trips both locally and internationally. We also emphasize the importance of giving back though required volunteering in high school and several school events like our carnival that raises money to donated to organizations that help others.

This year we are pleased to offer several new programs designed to assist MSHS students in achieving their full academic potential.  For those who excel at English we will provide AP English during the 11th and 12th grades.  If a student has encountered significant difficulty with math we have a new on-line remediation program that will assist each student individually. In addition there will be opportunities to take on-line classes and, for some students, a credit recovery program.

We believe that each child is a unique individual who deserves a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature. Toward that end, we have developed a strong Student Code of Conduct and expect students to behave with the best of manners and respect. Character Education is integrated throughout the school and in the general curriculum; however, there is a concentrated focus during homeroom. The focus is the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, fairness, respect, caring, responsibility and citizenship. 

In terms of our students' physical and social needs, we have top of the line athletic facilities. Our physical education courses teach competitive athletic skills and lifetime activity skills. We have established sports teams that provide our students the opportunity to compete with other local schools. We have also organized our students within the school as teams enabling them to develop leadership skills and compete with one another academically, behaviorally, and in lots of fun activities like the science fair, Carnival, and talent show.
