High School Graduation and Credit Requirements
The ABS diploma is awarded to students who have completed a minimum of eight semesters beyond the
eighth grade, and who have earned a minimum of 25 credits. Credit is awarded upon completion of each course.

Students transferring from a local private American school will receive:
1) Credit for all courses awarded a D- or above by the sending school.
2) Weighted credit for all courses designated as Honors or AP by the sending school.
Students transferring from a government school or local private British school must:
1) Contact the Ministry of Education Equivalency Department to ensure validation of coursework completed in Year 9.
2) Contact any colleges or universities to which he/she will apply to determine coursework needed.
3) Complete any necessary coursework not commensurate with ABS grade level offerings through an independent
institution approved by ABS.
